Jill Biden is known for her sense of humor. At the beginning of April, the First Lady dressed up as a flight attendant – complete with a black wig and a name tag that said “Jasmine.” While aboard Executive One Foxtrot, the first lady’s plane, she handed out Dove ice cream bars to reporters and staff. When she returned to the cabin, she removed the wig and declared, “April Fools!”
Dr. Biden has done other silly pranks on airplanes in the past. In a segment of her memoir, she explains how she once hid in the overhead bin on Air Force Two in order to prank her husband while he was serving as vice president under former President Barack Obama. Now that Biden is president, Jill has more opportunities to showcase her sense of humor and get Americans to smile along with her.
However, Dr. Jill Biden was caught leaving the plane wearing an outfit that has caused quite the controversy. While leaving the plane, she was shown wearing a fitted blazer, a pleated leather skirt, as well as fishnet stockings, and black heeled booties. This was the outfit she donned while conducting her April Fool’s Day prank on reporters and staff.
The First Lady has fulfilled her promises during her husband’s presidential campaign. Dr. Jill Biden said that she planned to continue teaching English at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) despite her new role as First Lady. Although she has been busy serving alongside her husband as the forty-sixth president of the United States, she continues to educate people in Virginia. She teaches three remote introductory English classes at the college.
During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in February, Jill Biden explained her feelings after divorcing her first husband.
“I didn’t know anybody who had been divorced. I felt like it was a failure on my part. I lost my self-esteem because I kept thinking, ‘What’s wrong with me, why couldn’t I make this work?’” she told Kelly Clarkson.
She confessed that it took her “a year to get on my feet again,” and that’s when she met Joe Biden.
“And then, just unexpectedly, I met Joe. I had met him once before, but it was kind of a blind date when he called me,” she recalled without giving away more details.
Although Jill had a failed relationship before meeting Biden, she believes that she would never have gotten to live the life of her dreams if she hadn’t gone through the terrible relationship first.
“I look back on it now, and I think, you know, if I hadn’t gotten divorced, I never would’ve met Joe. I wouldn’t have the beautiful family I have now,” she said. “This is what I would say to you if I were your mother. My mother always said to me, ‘Things are going to look better tomorrow.’ And if you can take one day at a time, things will get better.”
