Here’s the simple recipe for melt-in-your-mouth chocolate truffle. Once you learn how to make this, you’re never going to go back.
- 1 can sweeten condensed milk
- 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 30 grams of butter
Start by taking your can of sweetened condensed milk and adding it into a saucepan. The can should be 400 grams in total. Next, mix in four tablespoons of cocoa powder. Gently stir it into the condensed milk until a homogeneous mixture forms.
You’ll know you’re on the right track if your mixture starts to look like a silky chocolate sauce. Although this looks delicious enough to eat, don’t indulge yet because you’re very close to a finished product that is melt-in-your-mouth good. When your mixture gets thicker and starts to resemble the consistency of pudding, it’s time to move onto the next step and add some heat.
Put your burner on medium heat and bring the chocolate sauce mixture to a boil. Stir constantly and add 30 grams of butter to the mixture. Keep mixing until the chocolate mixture starts to develop a shine.
WARNING: Keep stirring the chocolate, or it could burn.
Lower the heat and mix for about ten minutes until the chocolate sauce thickens.
While you’re working on the chocolate, you need to prepare your truffle mold. Cover the glass container with plastic wrap to ensure the chocolate does not stick to it when transferred. Then using a spoon or spatula, place the chocolate sauce into the mold. At this point, you have created a chocolate ganache. Use the remaining plastic wrap to cover the top of the chocolate mold.
Now, you have to be patient. Place your chocolate mixture into the fridge for at least one hour to one and a half hours. Don’t indulge until you’ve waited for it to chill.
After waiting, remove the chocolate from the plastic wrap and place it on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to slice the block of chocolate into individual servings.
Keep cutting the chocolate until you’ve created bite-size pieces that someone could just pop into their mouth.
Garnish your chocolate truffles with more cocoa powder and store them in the fridge.
